Nomndeni Mdakhi – Agenda Women

Meet Nomndeni Mdakhi, the founder of Agenda Women, an online platform curated for working women looking to take their careers and businesses to the next level. Her career has taught her the importance of building a strong foundation with the support of an all-female community that can help new business owners bridge the gap. She has created a community of strong, powerful women who work to uplift each other and create socially responsible business models that’ll stand the test of time.

“I think it takes courage to be vulnerable, and the fact that women do it every day is commendable. I think our ability to nurture, our ability to access vulnerable spaces, vulnerable thoughts create an intimacy with the people that we solve problems for.”

Georgina Bennett – Safe Study

Meet Georgina Bennett, the founder of Safe Study, an after-school enrichment programme for children to learn valuable skills in a safe space. Gina was volunteering at a soup kitchen during COVID-19 when she identified a need within the community for children to have a place to go that would foster learning and creativity. 4 years later, she’s created a unique environment that celebrates each child that passes through the doors and prepares them for a better tomorrow.

“Silence is actually a privilege. A lot of these kids come from one-bedroom flats that they share with their whole family, and they don’t have quiet ever. They never have peace and quiet so when they are able to have it, it’s such a privilege and they are so grateful to come to a space where there is peace and quiet.”

Makungu Valoyi – Advocacy4MentalHealth

Meet Makungu Valoyi, the founder of Adocacy4MentalHealth, an informative Instagram page that she’s curated to share evidence-based tips to manage mental health illnesses and to end the stigma around it. She holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Studies and is passionate about using her training as an occupational therapist to educate the public on effectively managing their mental health.

“Many people think that boundaries are cutting people off, guarding everything, but boundaries really define who you are and who you aren’t. In order to set healthy boundaries, you need to know yourself”
